"We hired Laurie to design our Pacifica garden after she was recommended
by several locals. We have just finished installing the garden to plan,
and are thrilled with the results. We wanted a garden that would be fun
and safe for our two year old twin girls, while still being attractive
and relaxing for the adults. She designed a wonderful space with tricyle
paths, a playhouse, a raised vegetable bed, patio space, lots of
different plants, and a small lawn area. The girls beg to go outside at
every opportunity, and love exploring, watering their plants, and riding
their scooters around the paths. Laurie listened to all our requests,
and gave us a full design in a very short time. She then worked with us
to find a contractor, and worked with the contractor to get us on
budget. During installation, she came by frequently to help with plant
locations and general decision making. Overall, she made the process
very easy and fun."

These homeowners wanted low maintenance, low water curb appeal and a family friendly backyard that would provide a safe play area for their small children, an adult dining area and a vegetable garden. These pictures were taken immediately after planting. It typically takes 3-5 years for a garden to fully develop. The hardscape infrastructure is in, complete with a figure eight tricycle path around the new side yard play area which includes a play house, wishing well and bamboo teepee for growing beans and sweet peas. The plants for this are are kid friendly favorites like Mexican Bush Sage and Lamb's Ears. Giant Sunflowers, Nasturiums and shade loving Impatiens will be grown from seed.
The raised bed vegetable garden is fully lit and irrigated and made up of a large three-sided bed and two smaller standalone beds that can double as cold frames.
The circular patio is slightly raised and centered in a small lawn and an adjacent patio is the future site of an L-shaped arbor and couch that will make a superb and comfy reading nook.
